CHURCH SPLIT?

Generally, I agree, but some splits can be healthy, if done for the right reasons in the right way. To this day, I wish I had been willing to split the first church I pastored. We were at a critical point of growth, some old timers were resisting it, and rather than cause a divide, I resigned. As it happened, the church dwindled and has little impact on the community now. So many good things were happening, it would have been a worthy split.

Spurgeon called it "Blessed Subtractions."

Also called multiplication by division.
